Let's break apart the cost of a sofa...Maybe the 

frame may cost $50, foam cushions $100 each, fabric- about 20 yards and with a good fabric you could be spending $50 a yard...so that puts us over $1000 without even springs and coils, labor or freight....so if you are looking at a sofa for $399 there can't be much good inside of it!
